I’m heading out to a lovely little spot in Yarra Glen on Friday with my writing colleagues from the Melbourne Romance Writers’ Guild for our annual writing retreat. It’s a few days of hanging out with like-minded writers, gossiping and relaxing, and very possibly doing some actual writing.
The schedule is pretty open, doing some sprints and low-key workshops, along with lots of social time. I’ll be working on my new manuscript, a third part in my San Destino series, the title is TBC at the moment, but I hope to have it ready for release by the end of this year.

On Saturday night we always have a potluck feast, where everyone brings something to contribute, followed by a costumed soiree. The theme for this year’s soiree is iconic Australian film characters, but I’m stumped as to what I’m going to go as. I’ve got a day or two to come up with something, but honestly, I’m coming up empty so far. I’m looking forward to the Saturday feast, as a group of women, we seem to be particularly inclined to over catering. I’ve even bought some snacks to contribute to the snack kitty, though I’m sure there will be plenty of snacks.
The new story is coming along well, I’m already nearly finished the first draft, after that I will have a couple of months to hone it before it goes off for editing and proof reading.
I’m excited for you to read my next story about Ashton, a private investigator and Holly, a rookie cop, who meet while Holly is on duty. Characters from the previous two books also appear, so you’ll be able to check in Riley and Jason. Watch this space for a cover reveal soon.
