I’m on a boat!*

I recently went on a cruise for two weeks to New Zealand. It was pretty good, all in all. Here is a picture of me eating icecream for evidence.

Things I learned (fun):

  • trivia is life
  • karaoke comes a close second
  • sometimes walking in a straight line is just not going to happen
  • you can’t say Titanic into a microphone (same principle as the Scottish Play)
  • Titanic is the answer to 25% of trivia questions
  • it’s always time for to eat
  • wifi is super expensive
  • drinks are cheap (if you have the package deal)
  • no one sings sea shanties
  • yoga is while at sea is really, really difficult.

Other things I learned (less fun):

  • if you fall overboard you’re gonna die
  • they have a shit-list of passengers
  • COVID. Is. Everywhere
  • the shows were… not great
  • the comedian was transphobic as, and then tried the ‘It’s all a joke, don’t get offended’ trick.

Verdict: Would cruise again, but perhaps not for a while, and maybe I’ll take a friend next time. Who wants to come see the inside passage of Alaska?

*I am no longer on a boat.
